The European Chain Reaction is an international science/art project organized through the etwinning platform. Eighteen European countries were represented by one school and Escola Casa Nostra represented Catalonia and the rest of Spain. First each school produced a presentation video in the form of a human chain reaction. Then each class was challenged to create a mechanical chain reaction that ultimately crosses the borders of every country involved. Finally, the pupils voted for their favourite chain reactions.

This project presents many interesting objectives including:

• Problem solving
• Following instructions and communicating in English
• Working together to achieve a complex, creative result
• Collaborating and competing with other schools in other countries

We are very proud to announce that, after the votes from around Europe were counted, sixth grade of Casa Nostra school came in ninth place. Congratulations!
